Complete Bake Off for Gifts and Smiles

In London, our team got together in the spirit of The Great British Bake Off and held our very own, often intense competition, going oven glove to oven glove to create winning cakes, bakes and breads, and raising funds with each and every opening of the warm oven door. Over ten weeks, our panel of judges sampled some of the finest delights we could muster, and raised almost a hundred pounds in the process.

Client Services Executive, Madilaine Rowley pipped the other bakers to the post, and was crowned the winner of the Complete Bake Off, 2016.

With the intention of donating our fundraising efforts to the winners’ chosen charity, when team read of the devastating theft of gifts for children at Imperial College Saint Mary’s Hospital Paddington, it was clear that we really needed to do was our best to help replace some of those gifts, lift some spirits and raise some smiles.

“It really is quite heart-breaking that something like this can happen, we were all rather shocked and disappointed. We wanted to do everything we could, and used our Bake-Off money to go and buy presents, and take them into the hospital” says Madilaine, who organised the replacement gifts and took them along to the hospital with a colleague.

We hope that we have helped to add a little sparkle back into the festivities for the children at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the hospital, and wish the children, families and hospital staff alike, a wonderful Christmas.
