Hitting the Right Notes in January

Hitting the Right Notes in January

Performance update | Complete London

January is now firmly behind us and it’s time for us to reflect on our great start to 2019 and how our London lettings team hit all the right notes to kick off 2019.

2019 is going to be a difficult year for all letting agents across England and Wales with the Tenant Fee Ban coming into effect from 1 June – we’ll be providing more information regarding this later in the year, so it was imperative to have an excellent start to the year.

Our lettings team in London rose to the challenge and exceeded several their performance targets including number of viewings and number of lets, which were respectively 41% and 12% above target. During January our average monthly rent across all properties in London was £1,445 and our average tenancy was 14 months long, both figures were respectively 25% and 27% higher in comparison to similar agents on Goodlord. The team’s incredible success has put us in an excellent position for the remainder of 2019.

In January our most popular location for rental properties was Islington with 17% of our move-ins being in this fantastic borough. Islington has always been a popular choice for young professionals, families and city workers due to its proximity to the square mile and the attractive traditional housing. Residents of Islington are spoilt for choice with an endless selection of bars and restaurants as well as a vibrant nightlife and ample green spaces to enjoy.

Our team’s success did not stop there, we also had an influx of positive customer reviews highlighting the fantastic service we provide to our clients. One customer review really stood out this month it was a 5-star review about our Lettings Consultant Renae Puleston-Jones from an extremely happy tenant and the review stated: “Very efficient, proactive and fast in responding. Agent from Complete (Renae) has been superb!” We have noted from past tenancies that happy tenants make for happy landlords, as happier tenants on average are more likely to look after their rental property and raise any maintenance issues with their property manager/landlord, if issues do arise.

It’s clear to see that our London team had a fantastic start to the year, Sam Tabor, Associate Director for London comments on his team’s performance: “I’m very proud of my team’s achievement in January and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year. The team rallied together to ensure they got the year off to a great start – I am very excited to see what else they can achieve during the rest of 2019.”
